Squier Mustang Vintage Modified squeal and feedbackck

I have a Squier Mustang Vintage Modified that sounds wonderful when played with a clean tone but when I turn up the gain, it starts to squeal and feedback. My strat single coils don't do that, they only hum at little when I turn up the gain( I can get a decent crunch out of them, and they aren't even stacked pickups).

Is it the nature of Mustang guitars to squeal/feedback or is there something wrong with the pickups?

They could be microphonic, but it can also be incorrect gain staging in the signal chain. What pedals? What amp? What are your settings?

The squier vintage modified pickups are notoriously microphonic, I remember I cured my Squier Jag pickups with a light paraffin bath, it worked (this was before I switched to a pair of Fender pure vintage , huge upgrade)

Did Squier purposely built the vintage modified pickups to be Microphonic or was it manufacturing error?
