For a a good budget amp that I get a very good srv tone from is a 30W Peavey Delta blues amp with the 15" speaker. This is the most underrated amp probably out there even though it sounds better than a lot of amps 3 & 4 times the price. I think people just can't rap their heads around the fact that a amp this cheap sounds this good. The Delta has one of the highest ratings period on Harmony Central. SRV did use a maple fret borad neck for certain songs. But more than anything it was the way SRV played. It was in his fingers and the force & emotion he played with.
