WoW!
man, I love my SSL-3 (s) !!!!!!!!!
having revolved a whole bunch of pups around 3 guitars I was left with a spare SSL-3 lying on the table, a Strat with an SSL-3 at bridge position and a big hole starring at me at it's neck position. So I dropped the spare SSL-3 into neck position and went to rehearsal. Wow! it was breathtaking!
I reduced the height of the neck pup and so the two SSL-3s are fairly equal in volume. This is nice as I wanted an equal volume switch when changing - the saturation is just so creamy and it still sounds 'strat' - certainly not thin and quacky like a real one, but fantastic for heavy blues or real rock!!! It also complements the original Fender pup in the middle so right now I am rocking!
