SSL-5 Purchase Error

Hi all,

I've made a mistake and tried to put an SSL-5 into a Strat with standard fender pickups, I've just read that I should have ordered a RW/RP version. Can't really afford to rush out and buy another. Is there no way to use this pickup in this guitar. I tried reversing the hot/ground but the noise was way to much to be usable.

I looks like I made an expensive mistake so far.

with a little more detail, we may be able to get you fixed up. you have a stock fender strat with three single coil pups? you are replacing the bridge with the ssl5? if you take the stock bridge pup and put it top to top with the neck, middle, and ssl5, which pups is it attracted to and which does it repel from?

Jeremy is right to get you to check the attraction repulsion to be sure. But this should be no biggie. If you've got normal strat pickups that you're replacing, you just need to swap the neck and middle pickups and everything should be humcancelling in the 2 & 4 positions.
