SSL-5 vs True Velvet in the neck position?

Hello!
I recently installed a SH-6 in the bridge position of my ash body/maple neck Strat, and while I like it, I feel like I need a hotter single-coil in the neck to match the output. I need a true single-coil with slightly hotter than vintage output, that will be great for cleans and slightly overdriven blues, and will stay clear but not harsh. I think a SSL-5 might be a good choice, but a True Velvet Neck looks like a good option, too.
Thanks in advance.

ive never tried a true velvet but ive used the ssl6 (flat pole version of ssl5) with a few buckers, patb3, tb5, jb, and it can be a great pup with a bridge bucker.

I've wanted to try an SSL-5 in the neck ever since I heard this:

I LOVE that neck tone.

I just had an SSL-5 installed in the neck and middle of my strat with TB-5 in the bridge. The neck is now my favorite. I'm new to pickup swapping so I have nothing to compare it to besides the stock ceramic single coils, but I love it.

SSL-5 and 6 are among my all time favorite neck singles. For the SSL-5 in the neck, remember it does not have the lip on the bottom flatwork. So you can flip it for the Hendrix stagger. If I use the staggered in the neck I flip it.
