What does a Stag-Mag sound like when its not split? Does it sound at all like a PAF-style humbucker? If not, is there anyway to make a hybrid pickup with a Stag-Mag coil in it to have it sound like a PAF pickup?
The StagMag doesn't sound all like a PAF, but comes a bit close to it.
I would say it's something between single-Coil and PAF.
With the StagMag in Humbucker-Mode you get a tone that is as sweet and smooth as a PAF, but with the definition of a single-coil.
I'D say the Stag Mag has characteristics of both pickups - the best o both worlds.
