Hi All,

I have a Fostex VF-16, The older model with 7 GB(Actually about 5 GB) hard Drive and No CD Drive.
It Has 8 inputs on the unit itself but,
I want to make a live recording of our Band for A Live Demo and I'm aware that it is possible to Use all 16 channels to record by Use Of an ADAT? Or so It says in the manual, But I can't find much about them and how to use this method to record.

Any help on how to do this?

I was also considering upgrading the hard drive to get more recording time and possibly record A whole Gig.

Thanks alot

Re: Stand-alone Multitracker for live recording

ADAT for 8ch is an optical cable, also known as fiberoptic/lightpipe.

There are many preamps with this out... Behringer AD8000, PreSonus DigiMax FS, the Mackie Onyx series, etc...

I'm not sure how to set it up on your unit, but it should just appear as 8 extra channels.
