I have a 2001 schecter c-1 elite. I will be replacing my pickups soon and wasn't totally sure to get trembucker spaced pickups or standard spaced ones. I've looked at the faqs section ,but would like to hear suggestions from people that know a lot about this or have actually changed the humbuckers on their schecter C model. thanks

pole to pole, 2.1 of a inch trembucker. under 2.1 humbucker.

This is something Evan wrote quite a bit ago and I saved it:

1) Measure from the center of one E-string to the center of the other E-string directly over the pickup.

2) If the length is over 2" (or 5cm), go with a Trembucker ("TB").

3) If it's less than 2", go with a traditional spaced humbucker ("SH").

Regardless of the guitar, the string spacing issue really only applies to bridge pickups. Once you get to the neck pickup, the taper from saddle to nut evens things out.

Ok, i have done the measuring, and the distance is pretty much exactly 2 inches. about a week ago I emailed the "tech" from the schecter website and told the year and model of my guitar.this is what he had to say.

"You should try a F-Spaced(trem spaced) pickup in the bridge and neck"

It took him 3 days to respond to this. Am I wrong for investing very little to no faith in this guy... I mean ... he told me I should "Try" ...W T F!

I have looked on the schecter website at guitars with the same body as mine that come stock with real duncans, and I don't see any "TB"s when I look at the specs. No disrespect to the tech, butI have more faith in you guys than this guy.

thanks

Any suggestions or opinions?

If it has a TOM bridge, I'd stick with a standard spaced humbucker. That's just my opinion, of course.
