...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

yeah, I couldn't do anything scientific on how well the thing stays in tune really as I have no tuner around atm, but I think this about sums it up... When I have a tuner to use as a proof to you people I'll record another demo ;)

Mostly done for JB from hell, here's the range of a Mustang!!!

Yeah, in case my accent (I apparently have one) is too thick, it could be set up for slightly more downbend range anyway, but it pretty much slacks the strings against the frets (a 22.5" mustang will slack even more).

See prettye mustang oh so prettye...

oh yeah, both pickups on, but I'm sure it sounds all the same through my sucky digital camera :laugh2:

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

Your tailpiece looks like it's set back WAAAAY further than mine. The hole that the bar went in was perpendicular to the body on mine. I can see how that would have far more range.

Oh, just to make you squirm, this is exactly like the one I had....

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

HAH... yeah, yours was set up to float (more)...

Like I said in the vid (kinda) I haven't touched the trem since I got it, but I MIGHT set it up for more upbend... Most people find there's more stability in eliminating upbend entirely, but I think that's rubbish ;)

You can change it by putting the springs on the alternate holes...

and GOD... the only thing better is Comp orange or comp blue...

I nearly did that to mine, but didn't want to refin the headstock (necessary for that look) and plus the body on 66s has no contours so it would have looked goofy.

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

Watching that video kind of made me miss it. I should've mentioned that mine was the epitome of relic'd. Chrisguitars.com had a cool mutt awhile back. It was a 60's 'stang body, sanded down, with a Jag-Stang neck. Maybe I'll see if it's still there....

Did I tell you I paid $250 for it with the OHSC?

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

haha! I love mine, but the truth is I'm terrified to play it... I mean, mine's a mutt too (even though most of the parts/neck/body/trem are from a 66, but I hate to mar the finish by playing it... lol. I want it to have the relicced look someday, but not yet... it looks like candy ;) (already worn off half the clearcoat...)

and gaah. Mine was $700 to put together all the parts and paint it. Still cheaper than most Jap RIs but...

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

Man.... you've officially made me miss that stupid, god-awful guitar. Maybe rather than getting another one, when I know I won't be happy with a lot of it, I'll come up with something based on one....

Thanks. Thanks A WHOLE FREAKIN LOT. :D

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

hehe :D Shecter Banshee looked sorta similar IIRC... or you could get a Cyclone of some sort... Unless you're now sold on the trem ;) Cyclones are thicker.

Personally if I NEEDED an HB, this would be more kurdtz than a jagstang (they're made of the proper woods now ;))

Quirky review to say the least. :D

"I've got my guitar running into a lead." haha

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

I was thinking about it today, and I think I want a 'stang that's Seafoam Green or some crazy purple with a matching headstock. I'm unsure of what I want for body woods. A sold rosewood neck would be neat.

I'd probably go with the Mustang bridge, and if I couldn't get along with it, set it to drop only, and just not use it. I spent a lot of time sans-whammy, and it got my left hand going with some cool bending and stuff, so I can live without it.

Slade, you might want to skip over this part, but I will definitely NOT use the Mustang switching system. What I would love to use is a couple tapped hot singles (maybe QPs), and make it look like the normal Mustang setup, but one switch does either pickup or both, and the other would tap them.

The matching headstock is the only thing I'm for sure on, though :)

BTW, who said you have an accent?

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

Ya know.... it might even be cool to take that Daphne Blue Cyclone with the bucker and drop a Phat Cat in it. Oh, if i didn't mention it before, I've grown dissatisfied with buckers lately. The only ones that I really dig the sound of anymore are the PAFs in my SG/LP.

Re: ...Stang Trem Range VIDEO!!! (I'm in it sorta)

HAH... actually your switching system I don't mind too much as at least it uses switches for SOMETHING :laugh2:

Matching stocks ftw ;) Cyclones are gibson scale btw... Either way sounds great, but you know which trem I like :D

Hah. East coast folk claim I have a "thick california accent" which I guess means I sound like Bill and or Ted :laugh2: I get the same from English folk...
