Didn't you get a red Jackson recently?

Yeah; had a Maple Board Red Snakeskin but I sold it. Sold the GITD as well but buyer was actually in Australia and the Fish & Wildlife Commission got involved with the export due to the "Mother Of Pearl" Shatkfin Inlays...long story short, I refunded the buyer and took the GITD back rather than letting it be "destroyed". IMHO; the '88 GITD was far and away SUPERIOR to the '04 Red Snakeskin in materials, feel and playability...just much more solid.

What a PITA!! I can see if you were illegally procuring materials or something, but to get involved on something that was made so long ago? And that you had nothing to do with.. They must not have anything better to do.. Refresh my memory, whats GITD?

Re: Starting off the day with a couple hours quality time with these and the 5150!!!

It was a PITA. In order to ship it they wanted me to fill out some forms, apply and pay for a license that would classify me as a "business" and a few other hurdles just to ship the guitar...or...they would retain the item as it could not be exported otherwise and they would "destroy" it. Thought the guitar deserved better and wasn't looking to screw over the buyer even though my auction on eBay was USA only and not for sale Internationally. Somehow he sidestepped that limitation and I shipped the guitar to Florida to a Shipping Agent he used. Said he had bought a half dozen guitars this way and never run into this issue previously. Nice guy and we worked it out in the end. Guitar traveled 3,994 miles over the round trip to Florida and back over a three week period in the hands of Fed Ex shippers through climates ranging from the very dry single digits to the humid 70s. I was just glad it returned to me without any damages. GITD = Glow In The Dark.

Amen to that! I'm actually starting to warm up to the D Activators in the ICT700.
