Static when touching pick guard.

I've noticed lots of players remove the pick guard from their Les Pauls, and lots of models don't even come with them. I think I might know why, I get static when I touch the pick guard on my Gibson ES339. Is there a known fix? I think I'm just going to remove it. It seems like its just static electricity (it attracts dust too), never done any mods, it's factory stock.

Re: Static when touching pick guard.

Wipe it down with a dryer anti-static cling sheet on occasion.

you can also put a static sheet in the control cavity & it will minimize the static build up. Although this is more of a common problem with single coils vrs. humbuckers. I've never noticed it on any humbucking guitar but all my Strats & Teles have it.
