Hey there,
I bought the file for crowning frets that the members of this forum recommended. The Stew Mac medium/wide fret crowning file. The "middle" one. What a beautiful thing. And to think I've been doing it all by hand all these years. I am not a pro, just a backyard guitar fixer - a real hack, but just for me and my buddy Ed, no high expectations, just to get some jobs done at no charge to me or my friend.
The question: this is so good, is it likely to last for maybe 20 or 30 guitar crowning jobs before wearing out? Never steel frets, just the normal extra high jumbo SRV type frets, whatever mix that is - nickel/? whatever. Or do they wear out much sooner?
Steve Buffington-thanks in advance as always!
