stewmac pots

I went and took out the metal sheet under the electronics in my les paul. I want to get a push/pull pot to put in but I'm not sure they have one tall enough. Do they?

And why can't I see any Gibson pots in my catalog?

Re: stewmac pots

I don't think that Stew-Mac does, but BlackRose appears to have a long-shaft SPST, and a medium-shaft DPDT.

One of those may work, or he may be able to order one. They do seem to be a bit uncommon. ;)

Re: stewmac pots

Got one. SPST push/pull from blackrose.

This might be a dumb time to ask, but can you use a SPST push/pull for split/series?

Re: stewmac pots

I didn't like the pots I've purchased from Stew Mac...they seem to go bad quickly and be of lower quality. I like the regular CTS pots and the push/pull pots I get from Allparts much better. Seem to be of hiigher quality. Lew

well, technically you can, beacause a guitar is normally set up in series wiring, and you can split coils with a spdt push/pull, but i think you mean series/split/parallel, which you cannot do

Ummm, no just the two options. Split or series.

Re: stewmac pots

Well, you could use it for series or parallel too....just not all three. Lew

If you use a dpdt on/on/on mini switch, you get series/split/parallel.You just use the series/split diagram..I didn't read the whole post so I hope I'm not out of context on my info? :smack:

I agree about the StewMac pots. They just seem cheap.

I wire my Strat's w/t 1 master tone control. So I get two CTS pots
and then use a stewmac pot from my spare parts draw just to cover
the 3rd hole in the pickgaurd. HA HA LOL !!
