Really basic stuff here but helpful if you're just starting out:

A couple of things he doesn't mention:
1) make certain that the parts can't move while you're soldering them together.
2) if you must solder onto the back of a pot, rough up the surface a bit and use some extra flux.
3) heat the parts first, then let the solder flow onto the joint.
4) move quickly and don't let the components get hot (he did cover using a heat sink)

An email from StewMac had that video in it and I figured I might as well throw in couple of other references. There's nothing more frustrating than buttoning up a guitar (or worse an amp) only to find out that something's just not right... and it turns out to be a bad solder joint. Hard to find sometimes too.
