Stiletto Clips....

Re: Stiletto Clips....

I like the Brit Crunch a lot. Is the Stiletto woeth paying for to get that sound or can I get it cheaper? I'm guessing I can get it cheaper

Re: Stiletto Clips....

this is what i posted on hugeracksinc:
Yeah I agree with that, sounds like the modern hi-gain setting on a v-amp (approximatley ok guys... )

Sounds pretty cool, not my type of amp, but sounds cool all the same.

Nice to have one of these in your rack with a mark IV too.

nice 5U arrangement:
- Stilleto
- Mesa A/B
- Mark IV

On that track16 it does sound pretty shrill on the high-end.

Some people say this is a step in the right direction for mesa. I reckon it isn't a 'right' direction, just some new territory that they should definatly expand into, But their current/older stuff is still definatly the shiznit.

Re: Stiletto Clips....

heh, neato clips!

definitely some tone to rival the top end.

Re: Stiletto Clips....

I first thought it was rathert harsh on the top end too... until i plugged into some good reference headphones. Lemme put it this way...

Marshall = OWN3D

Man this thing sounds fricken great! I gotta get to the Mesa Hollywood store and fire one up!

Re: Stiletto Clips....

well, lets put it in perspective, I dont think headphones are gonna make a diference.

Its an mp3 at probably a 11:1 ratio ?

Re: Stiletto Clips....

Downloaded the brit and brown crunch clips, and it sounds like a marshall to me. Really difficult to tell with an mp3, but I like it.

Even if it is an MP3 I think Sennheiser HD280s stack up a little better than cheap computer speakers built into the monitor ;)

Keep in mind the player could've recorded this amp a little weird too plus he may not like a whole lotta bass.

I'm going up to hollywood next week, I'll post a review then.

Re: Stiletto Clips....

Listening to the clips, I can tell what the amp's capable of. The actual clips give me the impression I don't like his guitar or pickups, but the amp can probably sound good, especially with the master high and the pre volume lower.....to tame the Mesa Buzzies.
I'm sure it's an amp that doesn't start sounding great till it's around 4 on the volume, and even better, higher.

Re: Stiletto Clips....

I still want to hear one and play one for myself. Not bad from what I hear. It definately has that EL34 tone to it. Sounds like it definitely has potential.

B2D... let us know what you think when you get back from heatin' one up.
