Hi friends,
I'm stumped by the wiring in my super Strat. It's an 83' Kramer HSS. I put a Burstbucker 3 (8.4) in the bridge wired to the DPDT for switching to series. That works great, and sounds awesome. As you would expect it's much hotter than the stock Kramer cheap single coils, so I got a 90's STK-S2 which the seller measured at 12.8 and installed it in the neck following the Duncan wiring guide; Red and White tied together, Green and bare grounded to the 500K volume Pot, and black to the 5-way switch.
The issue is that the Duncan neck pup sounds just as weak as the cheap Kramer single coil in the middle. The BB3 blows them away in output in series and in standard humbucker modes.
Am I expecting too much from the STK or have I wired it wrong?
Help!!
