very cool!

toneful and soulful !

simply masterful technique combining the slide and fretted notes seemlessly

really dig the harmonic and melodic concepts

standard tuning? or something open?

Re: Stormy Monday - slide guitar

Just came from Cream's post. Both were nice and relaxing.
And thanks for this as it was my 'goodnight song' for today ;)

Re: Stormy Monday - slide guitar

Thanks, Evan. Nice to hear from you. Give my best to Seymour. Do you guys have any plans to come down here to Australia?

Re: Stormy Monday - slide guitar

great playing and great tone. and as someone who has struggled to learn slide, your video was educational for me too. such great control you have.

Re: Stormy Monday - slide guitar

I love the attack, some of the notes you hit have this stuttering quality I quite like. Sweet axe too! is that a warmoth kind of thing or what?

Re: Stormy Monday - slide guitar

Very nice, although it does remind me how horribly limited my own slide playing is :)
Perhaps I should do more practice!

No biz plans. My girlfriend and I were in Tasmania last year and we'll be in NZ next year. Where in Aus are you these days?
I live at a place called Tamborine Mountain, about a half an hour's drive inland from Surfers Paradise. Have fun in NZ, it's an amazing place.

It's a Strat, in fact when I bought it second hand at Fender Soundhouse in London England in 1973, the salesman said "If you want any changes to the setup, take it out back and ask Seymour." I did, and that's when I met our host here, Seymour Duncan, who was working there as the guitar tech. He joined a band I had formed for a while after that and did some recording with us. We did a very short tour to Frankfurt, Germany.

It was that 'baboon's ass pink' when I got it, I stripped it back within days of buying it and brought it back to natural wood. Those are SD pups, too.
