Strange Issues with a Pegasus I Bought

Hi there,

I just got a Pegasus I bought as new off of Reverb and it's weird. I first noticed a small crack long the center. That bugged me but I could overlook that as it'd be under my strings anyhow. The biggest thing is the mounting holes on either side don't line up, they're crooked. Has anyone ever seen this before? I'm not sure what Reverb would do about it either way, anyone have any experience with this sort of thing on Reverb or their policies?

Okay, so here are some pics. It's difficult to tell that it mounts crooked but it absolutely does. It tries to go under the pickup ring and is quite crooked, not just a little. If it were only a hair, I wouldn't think anything of it.

Looks like your mounting tabs are bent. Get some needle nose pliers and carefully finesse them until the mounting holes are centered.
Somebody was not gentle with that pickup...

An online vendor recently told me he's had this issue with several shop floor customs, almost always with colored bobbins.

If it were me and I recevied a new pickup with those issues, Id be in contact with the seller letting them know you received a damaged product listed as new.

Definitely contact the seller and return that and get your money back.

They're most likely not cracks. They're gas lines from the injection molding process and they typically emanate outwards from the pole pieces. We call them "spider legs." They're not structural and they don't affect the performance or longevity of the pickup.

I wouldn’t bend Black baseplates. My Black Winters arrived that way, I tried to fix it, tabs immediately broke off and I had to send it in to get the baseplate replaced. But just IME.

I have a couple of Duncans with cracks like that too. Good to read they're not actual cracks.
