Strange wiring : help!

Hi!

There's a strange wiring inside the new strat I bought.. I dont understand.

Ive done lots of wiring, but never messed with series/phase wiring... if anybody can help...

If I understand correctly, when in position #4 (normally bridge/middle), it switches to neck/bridge, right ?

correct, the switch basically toggles the 2 pickup outputs between 2 terminals of the 4 way.
