Good day,
I currently have a STK-S6 in my bridge for my Strat, but I hardly ever use it because it is too bright even when using overdrive and doesn't "sing" like humbuckers do. I basically never use this pickup except with middle for the classic Strat quack sound.
My guitar has a bridge-on switch so I have access to all 7 combinations with a single volume pot and a single tone pot, both 250k.
What would be a good pickup as a single-coil sized humbucker that will not be overly bright for the bridge and how does it affect the classic quack sound?
It would also be nice to keep it only somewhat hotter than my other pups, which are an STK-S7 in the neck and STK-S4M in the middle. I want to keep the output fairly consistent due to volume reasons, although I do use a compressor which will help.
I was considering the JB Jr and the Little '59. If anyone has any recommendations from other brands, that would be appreciated too.
For reference, I play mostly classic rock and blues.
Thanks,
GreatOz
