So I am new here, and thought I would share this and maybe get some input. I love all kinds of guitars like most of you here, I need one of everything because it is OK to hoard guitars!! I wanted a new guitar just because, so I was looking for an inexpensive one and really liked the large headstock style vintage modified 70's strat series squire model with the maple neck and fingerboard, fair enough because I am going to screw with it anyways and really don't want to do it with an expensive one. So I look on eBay found a neck, then a body, then decided to use a babicz bridge with a steel block(GFS). Then I looked for a pickup combo for blues style and rock, really not a hard metal guy except for the 80's, that's another post all together. I went for my own combo, such as a P-rail in the bridge,(the hot one) and vintage rails in the middle and cool rails in the neck and with a toggle option on neck and bridge. Well don't stop there, got a compensated bone nut, tbx tone and one volume(500K cts), and cobalt Ernie ball 9-42 strings, the body is alder. I also only run one volume in the second tone position because I am constantly hitting it and turning it down. This thing is killer!! I love Seymour Duncan p/ups, I have many of them. After a couple hours of set up with the intonation and all, I was amazed at the difference, I also have another 50's style strat with alnico II's and a jb humbucker in the bridge, it is awesome as well but this one really has a completely chimey sound than that one, pretty much the same, alder and maple. OK, so I like the neck p/up(cool rails) but I love the vintage middle so much I think I might swap it out. How many of you guys have them in the neck and could chime in here. Thank You in advance for any feedback!!
