Strat /HSH/ darkness

Got this MIM Strat with Chopper mini in neck/Duncan 52 in middle and JB in bridge.Started out with all 250 pots but went to 500k volume/47 caps,but still to dark and muffled .Any suggestions on were to go from here to brighten things up? Thanks.

You can go to.022 or even .01 caps, but the JB and Five Two should not be dark and muffled at all. Maybe something isn't quite right with the wiring. Start out by wiring each pickup directly to the jack, and see if you still get the dark/muffled tone.
