Strat or Tele - Hard to choose which one…

Strat or Tele - Hard to choose which one…

Here are two different style guitars that I assembled…

Both sound great and play easily.

Now the hard part is choosing which one to play each night.

Strat uses these parts…
Fishman Fluence pickups with Callaham bridge.

Tele uses these parts…
Joe Barden pickups with Toneshaper electronics (4-way switch) and Fender bridge using brass saddles

Why don't you play both?

Also, I'd go tele just because that flame... :earl:

Take turns or flip a coin.

The answer lies within your name.
Also mainly because the knots in the wood of the tele kind of rub me the wrong way. Adds character though.

The Strat sings and the Tele screams. One is refined and one is raw. Let each song decide.

By the way, I know gold is not that popular but I'd seriously load that Strat with some gold hardware. The chrome/nickel is just wrong on that bad boy.

How do you switch from modern to vintage with the fluence pups? I would use both guitars myself dependent on the song choice. I never go with less then 3 guitars anyway try and have every option covered.

In order to choose Strat® or Tele®, I think first one needs to posses one of each. Not sure what those are, but neither appear to be actual Fender® guitars. For now, I would play the sunburst 3-pickup model with the Fishmans.

I would start over both of those look like firewood.

Neither are Fender.

I assembled them from various manufactures and both have killer tone better than any fender (I also own more than a couple fenders)

Ok - They're partscasters. If they work for you, then good for you!

Other manufacturers refer to similar styles as "S" or "T". They cannot call them Strats or Teles.

So contact have Fender and ask them to try and suit me…

Strat and Tele by another name is still the same shape form and function…

These are some that Fender Custom shop wished they made! (hehehe)

:ok:

FCS will certainly make that if you are willing to pay them their price.

I think both of your guitars are very nice. The real trick is, as always, picking the right guitar for the song.

I used to own a 1968 ash-bodied Telecaster Thinline with a factory Bigsby, and that was a wonderful guitar...even though the Bigsby drove me nuts at every string change! I also have a love affair with mid-'60s double-bound sunburst Customs.

These days I get my single coil tones from G&L Legacys and don't own a tele style guitar, but in the back of my mind I still want one. Finding one with a 12"radiused board would be a nice addition to my collection, even if it wouldn't get played much.

I'm just in love with my Legacys.

Take both to gigs. Gotta have a backup. In most cases, the patrons don't give a darn what guitar you're playing. I get it as a player that it's about fitting the song but for the most part, it doesn't really matter. Those are both nice axes. Play 'em.
