Strat Replacement Tuners

Can anybody recommend some good Strat replacement tuners for my Strat project that don't require any drilling? Is there anything out there that fit as a direct replacement? I am looking to replace the "Vinatge" Fenders tuners on a MIM Strat.

Thanks!

Re: Strat Replacement Tuners

Hi

I've been looking pretty closely at what's currently available as I will be needing a set very soon. Gotoh seem to be well-regarded and they have a great range in the Vintage style, from regular Kluson-style to versions with staggered posts and others that are string locking. Now they have the HAP-M version, which allows you to set and lock the string posts at any height you choose, AND lock the strings.

In the past I used Schallers and Grovers on Fender guitars, but this time i am going with vintage style as i believe their lighter weight contributes to more 'vintage' tone.

There is also a Kluson brand available now, owned by Tone Pros i think.

I am sure others here can contribute a lot more than I can.

Re: Strat Replacement Tuners

I have two American Fenders, that have Schaller Locking tuners. They just swap right out. Took about 15 minutes to change them. They work great just as good as the original tuners with the added benefit of super easy string changing.

i've heard many players say the Gotoh vintage tuners are well made and good for the bucks.....

Re: Strat Replacement Tuners

Thanks for the feedback guys! I just want a good set of tuners without having to carve up my headstock. I thought it would be easier to find something.
