Strat surgery scheduled - consultation needed

OK, I've got an ash bodied CIJ Strat that has become something of a project. The guitar seems to have a pretty bright tone. It currently has a set of MIA Delta Tones in it. I just scored a Fralin SP43 bridge pickup for a beefier tone which I will install in the next couple of days.

I also have a SD 5-2 in the neck of an old Fender Mustang which I don't play much anymore. Should I install the 5-2 along with the Fralin, or is it better to wait and judge how the Fralin blends with the Fenders first and then consider my next move?

So far, I have found the Fender Delta Tones good, but not particularly memorable. Will the 5-2 blend well with a Fender and a Fralin? Has anyone else had good luck with a mongrel mix of pickups like this? Will Lassie get help before Timmy starves while trapped in the abandoned mine?

Thanks...

Re: Strat surgery scheduled - consultation needed

I received a response to my question on another guitar board (gasp!) which shall remain nameless.

Is this response accurate: "The Fralin SP43 ceramic pickup will probably have more output than the American Series Bridge pickup you currently have. It may be necessary to lower the Fralin to pickguard level to balance with the other pickups. The Seymour Duncan five two is a south up polarity pickup. Similar to your RWRP, south up, middle American Series pickup. If you wish to maintain hum/noise canceling, the Duncan pickup is suitable for use only for the middle position." ?

Looks like bungalowbill posted a similar question and the answers were a little confusing.

I don't particualry know any of the models but to me it seems like a nice combination....

Let's see if someone else falls around!!
