Hi all,
My Strat pickup quest continues-- I just put a set of Antiquity II's in my American Strandard (I'll get into that later) and put the Fat 50's that came with it into an old Mexican Standard I have lying around.
I'm pretty new to soldering and wiring my own guitars but now that I feel comfortable, I've decided to get a little more in depth and take my old MS Strat up a notch. I took out the old switch and pots and replaced them with high quality CTS stuff and wired everything up using a diagram I found on the Duncan website. Everything sounds great-- the Fat 50's weren't what I wanted in my main squeeze Strat, but they really are good pickups. But there are a couple of problems I'm trying to trouble shoot...
Everything sounds great when the tone controls are turned up, but for some reason when I roll down the tone controls all the way the signal drops out completely- like it would when you turn down the volume all the way. Before it's rolled down all the way, it does roll off tone, but I do loose a bit of volume the more I turn it down and then suddenly it's gone. Does anyone know what the deal might be?
Also, I'd like to have the bridge pickup wired to the tone control along with the middle, so I can roll of a little of the high end when necessary. Currently the bridge has no tone control. If anyone has a diagram for that I'd love to see it.
Thanks,
Max
