i just got an american strat and volume is low what can i do besides turn my amp up .can i change volume pot or anything else ? or is that just the way it is changed pickups to lil 59 but did not like tone made strat sound like a les paul now have ssl-1's and scream demon in bridge(that vol is fine) is single coils just lower or is it guitar?

It's normal to have less output with a single coil pickup compared to the side by side humbucker you pulled out...You might be better off going back to something else side by side or a stacked pickup if the output is a problem?
You could adjust the pickup closer to the strings,but not too close with a true single coil or you'll run into "stratitis" problems.
