Strat Volume Control Guard? Help Please!

I remember seeing this metal apparatus that went over the front of the volume knob on a strat...on the top to keep you from knocking the volume while playing. But at the same time, the bottom half of the thing was open so you could still do volume swells. Does anyone know what this thing was called and where I could get it?

I'm gonna have to quote HamerPlyr here-

'It is a poor craftman who blames his tools'.

Thousands of players have adapted to the small variety of guitars they could afford over the years. Learning to use YOUR guitar and have full control of it is just as much a part of technique as your picking and fingering.

Aside from my lousy words of wisdom, it sounds like a good idea if you have to swing your right arm while strumming.

that sounds like something I would bang into and beat the living **** out of my knuckles on while playing...I would just learn out to play w/o hitting the knob or simply move the knob to somewhere else

This kind of reminds me of the problems I had with my Jaguar and Jazzmaster. When I played, the strings would pop out of the saddles because of the lack of tension on the strings as they break over the bridge. People would tell me- "just play lighter or get a different guitar." But there's been a little bar device available for years that hooks on to the vibrato plate that creates more tension and a downward pull against the saddles. If I had known of that at the time I wouldn't have been unhappy with a few guitars...

Valad point, and I understand 100%, i sold my Mustang because of the same thing!

I just saying that personally I would not want a control guard...Im afraid I would hit that too, and it being metal it might hurt...I used to hit the vol control on a Strat too, now i don't...I just had to learn how to play a Strat

I have learned to play around it and it doesn't happen 98% of the time now but I'm just looking to see if I can find one and see if it lets me play a little bit more loose. I don't play with my guitar down by my balls nor do i strum like a retard but every once in awhile ill hit the knob and it kinda bothers me.
