i have had the opportunity to play one of your modded ds-1's on two different occasions, thanks to STRATSANDAKS, and all i can say is wow! i played a stock Hwy.1 strat thru it and couldn't believe a strat could sound like that!

i compared your mod to my stock pedal and couldn't believe the difference. i will definately be sending my pedal to you asap.

to describe the mod as a JCM800 in a box, is dead on. :saeek: :32: good job buddy!

John-It sounds like you have another convert on your hands. :bigok:

Tenniso-Glad you enjoyed yourself, cool to hear someone with your chops playing through my rig. As good as that stock Highway 1 sounds now, I can't wait to hear it with a set of Surfers in it. :)

Re: STRATDELUXER97, you're a genius!

thanks for the compliment! but dont sell yourself too short. if you'll recall, i learned a few cool licks from you.

as for the surfers, buy 'em up! i cant wait to hear how they sound.

Nice to relax and enjoy life, but it's also good to stay busy and productive...The key is to balance the 2 together...

I Just got done putting all of my hurricane plywood boards back up and now I'm relaxing with my Ice House in my hand...

Re: STRATDELUXER97, you're a genius!

I may have to get a DS-1 now. I'll PM you if I get the $$$, Stratdeluxer.

Do you mod Blues Drivers? On my Boss ME-50, the distortion knob has a turbo feature, so you can get that Blues Driver sound under high-gain and it sounds really fat and Paul Gilbert-esque (extremely touch sensitive too). If you could mod a Blues Driver to have more gain and possibly some sort of bass boost, I would buy one and send it to you in a heartbeat.

Re: STRATDELUXER97, you're a genius!

I'm a newbie to the forum but I also want to give Stratdeluxer97 major, major kudos. He installed a pair of Alnico II's and rewired my les paul so I can split both the bridge and neck pickups. Not only did he do an incredible job, since I live in Florida not to far from him, he invited me over to his house to teach me how to do it. He also modded my Tube Screamer TS9 DX (the one with the turbo, hot, and + mode) and it sounds so much better, especially when I play it with my strat. Before it was very harsh when using the bridge pickup and now it has a fuller sound with a kicking low end.
