Stratocaster control cavity

I don't have a Strat available to check this myself....

Is the control cavity of a top rout Strat large enough to hold four standard-size pots and either a three-way blade switch or an LP-style three-way toggle? Effectively, the question is whether you can fit LP-like controls in a top rout Strat without additional routing.

I'm not too concerned with the aesthetics of the layout from the front of the pickguard, just whether or not there's enough room in the cavity.

I'd say yes - but it would not be aesthetically pleasing. I'd 2nd the concentric pots or go with the smaller ones.

Something like this:

My thanks to both of you, and especially for the photograph. I quite like the looks of the small ones - hadn't ever seen any installed before that I noticed.

IMO, even if it is possible to cram four controls into the cavity, this is going to cramp them too closely together for ease of use - let alone soldering everything.

In your position, I would compromise with individual volume pots and a master tone.

Yup, go with smaller pots *and* smaller knobs.
