Stratocaster vs Mustang single pickups

Does anyone notice that the Fender Mustang single coil pickups have less output the Strat single coil pickups? How come that is? I thought both pickups were made the same way.

i think mustang pups use shorter magnets, might have less turns too. strat pups varied a lot over the years, where it seems like mustangs were fairly consistent. they are sorta made the same way, rod magnets and a coil. but if a the magnets are shorter and there are less turns of wire, itll have less output

Strat units and Mustang units are very different animals. The only similarity is 6 polepieces and 2 wires.
