Re: Strymon Sunset

I like what I've heard from the demos, though don't think this functionality is for me - I have all the drive flavors I need already.

Strymon do make great stuff, though - I really, really love the El Capistan , and its rapidly become a mainstay for both live and recording.

Re: Strymon Sunset

That is interesting. I don't have a use for it, and I do dig their other pedals, but I am happy they are making something like this.

Re: Strymon Sunset

I'm still squarely in the Strymon for Reverb and Delay and analog for drive camp. (I love my Timeline, El Cap and Blue Sky, they sound great)

Have you seen the Elektron Analog Drive? Pretty big pedal but it's basically all the popular drive circuits in one box, MIDI controllable. That's the direction I'd like to see it going.

Re: Strymon Sunset

OK, I've heard a few more demos and I'm curious to try it, especially through a loud and dynamic tube amp.

Although really, this is all just foreshadowing the inevitable big red box with MIDI, tons of presets and the ability to control B/M/T levels, frequency and Q.

Re: Strymon Sunset

What I like about Strymon is that they're real electronic engineers pushing technology forward, not hobbyists reinventing old designs. They seem to be players too, so they aren't just some engineer like I'd associate with digital FX companies. They seem to understand how to blend analog and digital in a way that results in a musical tone.
