stupid newbie question.

I am not much of a technical genius regarding humbuckers and stuff, because I am new to it. Well, let's get to the point;

I know people think that 500k pots are best for the JB, because a 250k pot tames it too much. Does the same apply to the Jazz neck?

i know most people probably use the JB with 500k pots, but don't alot of people think its better with 250k? maybe im just mis-understanding

either way, you want 500k for the jazz neck, it would probably be too woofy and muffled with a 250k pot

I always thought that Humbuckers = 500 and single coils = 250 but hey what do I know?

It all depends on what you want to hear, I think that all neck buckers should go with 500k pots just to liven them up. If you find it too harsh though, go with a 250k. Also if you have a jb you can use either or pot, just try one and follow your ears.

Sune, there are no "stupid" questions here. Good advice guys, FWIW, pots are cheap so you may as well try different values.
