Hi, i have just ordered a Bill Lawrence L500XL bridge humbucker and wondered if anyone knows of a neck pickup that might go well with it. I play through a solid mahogony les paul copy through a marshall jcm900 mkIII
Re: Suggest a neck humbucker to go with Bill Lawrence L500XL bridge
I am not all too familiar but I do remember them in the NUNO Washburn N4's
That was with a 59 in the neck. I am NOT a huge 59 fan, but you CANNOT argue with the 59 as a basic, anywhere, anytime pickup.
I would add to this list, Dimarzio VPAF bridge model used in the neck, or an APH1 Alnico Pro 2

I have a 900, I also use a XL500. I use the Bill Lawrence L-500C in the neck position. The L or the R will work gret also depending on what flovor you want!
If you want a Bill Lawrence in the bridge, go with one in the neck too!! Trust me, they are wonderful in that position also!!!

I say your options are open. Anything hot enough to match up even close to your bridge PUP is going to sound like a loud, sustaining nacho fart in the neck position, so go with whatever you think sounds good and don't worry about it's relation to your bridge PUP.
