Can't beat an HSS strat. The humbucker in the bridge could handle rock/metal/some ska, and the middle strat pickup is great for funk, and the neck is fat sounding and great for jazz.

Well, the Godin is basically a les paul with flat body, a maple\maple neck, 24,75" scale, and a S-S-H pickup config.

Anyway, sorry for disrupting you, i'm just too happy for finding my dream axe myself

I've recently gone guitar paloozing myself.

Seems the dealer where I live is the largest Herritage dealer in the world.



(The herritage) has Les Paul bodies with a 25/5 neck

I'd definitely do something S/S/H if I were you...Fender Fat Strats are only $400 and totally diverse.

Get a Paul. With the right amp, you can do all the styles you listed.

What price range?

First thing that popped into my head was a PRS Custom with vintage trem or maye a strat.

What about an S470:

They work quite well across the musical board and cost less than comparable HSS strats etc. Personally, I must admit I've got serious PRS SE EG HSS GAS just now...
