Suggestion for a single coil size neck humbucker, high output humbucker in bridge

Hi, new here, first post and am looking for some ideas.

Here's the background. Years ago I acquired an ESP LTD M1000 deluxe hardtail, which had pearly gates in the bridge and jazz in neck. Love the guitar though found the pickups to be a bit thin sounding, so bought various used pickups on Ebay to find out if I could get a better sound and a neck pickup that was good match for the bridge pickup. I settled on Alternative 8 in bridge and Duncan distortion neck in neck position. The sound I was looking for, perfect so far. By the way, Steve Morse these days has the lead sound I was looking for, did try the Dimarzio Steve Morse pickup though liked the Duncan Alternative 8 better.

Then I got a secondhand Ibanez JS1000, again found the Fred pickup to be a bit too lightweight, so given my discovery of the Alt 8 with its's alnico 8 magnet, fitted a Dimarzio Satchur8 which keeps in with the Satriani theme, which is great and worked well with the stock Diamrzio PAF pro in the neck.

I now have an Ibanez JS24P. This has a full sized humbucker in bridge and single coil size at neck. Again, found the stock Dimarzio Mo'Joe bridge pickup to be lacking and I'm going to try both an Alternative 8 and Satchur8 there as a replacement. The advice I'm looking for is, is there any experience here for a suitable replacement neck pickup that would be a good match probably for the Alternative 8 in the bridge? The neck pickup is Strat single coil size and I'd be looking for a humbucker. I'm thinking of a Duncan Hot Rails neck at the moment...

Welcome to the forum!

The Hot Rails is probably a match for output, but it is a pretty mid-heavy pickup. That might be perfect for the present Morse sound, though. I am a big Morse fan, too. His pickups are pretty mid-focused.

i had on in the bridge.
all i can say is it was hot and loud AF.
Tone wise, it felt like Flat or Even.
settled with regular Prail set with that PU rings.
Love it

here is my recommendation...
Go Wit the FLow.....
the FLOW....

What is "the FLOW"?

P-Rail is a great pup, especially with the Triple Shot rings, I love it. But it isn't single-coil-sized...what the OP wants. It never will be made single-sized if you want it to sound like a P90.
