Suggestions for cheap acoustic for fishing

I got my fishing license renewed this last weekend and went fishing for first time this year and I had the idea of getting a cheaper acoustic guitar that is durable for me to take to the river with me so I can work on some music while I'm waiting. When I'm fishing I have some good ideas just sitting there and thinking so I thought I would capitalize on the situation and get some suggestions for a cheaper acoustic guitar that is durable. Satin finish. I don't want anything with an output jack. The only thing I really care about are satin finish, durability and I would like it to stay in tune. I'm putting my budget for this at$300. All suggestions welcome. Please keep in mind it will probably be getting in the dirt and even a little water.

Martin Backpacker.

Optionally- the cheapest Yamaha any local GC/Sam Ash etc has. There are a bunch on Reverb for ~ $80-100. Buy it, play it until it doesn't work...replace it. I'd spend way less than $300 on something that might get wet.

I wouldn't worry too much about the cost to be honest. I'm not saying go out and buy a pre-war Martin, but don't buy a cheap guitar just because it's gonna get dinged and dented.

The biggest aspect of a guitar is how it makes you feel. A cheap guitar with scars is a beat up crappy guitar. A half decent guitar with scars is pretty cool. Just do the same thing you would for any other expendable income purchase. Set a budget for yourself, and try out guitars in that range until you find something you like.

What kind of tone does the bamboo produce? Does it sound like most other acoustics?

Sounds like any other cheap travel guitar, and balances much better than a Martin Backpacker. Being made of bamboo, it is pretty durable, too.

I would get a 3/4 guitar I usually have my Applause CC in my truck

Edited to correct model.

Have you treated it against water with smth or just using as is? Sounds pretty interesting for camping/hiking tbh. I think there was an instrument store next to my go-to sports store https://gritroutdoors.com/ , might try to find something similar!

No, I haven't bothered. But it survived a few rainstorms pretty well. It also survived being in the back of a car in summer in Florida pretty well, too. Bamboo is pretty tough stuff.

I've never cured aged bamboo warp or buckle
