suggestions for Ibanez S replacement pups

So I picked up an old Ibby S from 92 I believe. Hard tail, short scale, H-S-H with the thin S body and rosewood board. Love the neck and the feel of the lightweight body but the stock pickups are just o.k. They don't suck hard but could certainly be better. Thinking about maybe a WLH set or perhaps a 59 neck and a custom in the bridge. I'm open to anything really, but the wild card is the single in the middle. Like to keep it noieless, maybe a classic stack or a cool rails? I have no idea how these might work with different humbuckers so any thoughts and experience would be appreciated. Tones go from classic rock to early metal, nothing to extreme. Thanks guys...

I really like the Classic Stack Plus in the middle. It is a good sounding, quiet pickup. The main thing is deciding what kind of music the guitar will be playing. A 59 & Custom are great choices for both vintage an modern. For a lot more modern, a Jazz & Custom 5 might be good, too. What amp? What kind of music? Can you articulate the properties of the current pickups you have that you don't like?
