Suggestions for Tele style pickup?

I'm having a Fender Esquire style guitar custom built for me. For those not familiar, it just a single pick-up Telecaster. I play mostly blues and classic style rock. I was thinking about putting in the STL-1b. Is this a wise move? If so, are there any particular specifications for the pots that will give me the most bang for my buck? I wanna get that old time tele sound....

Any help would be appreciated. Also, if there is a better choice, let me know.

I would contact MJ in the Duncan Custom Shop and get a Hot Tapped Tele and the schematic that Seymour uses in his famous Esquire. Lew

Excellent suggestion Lew! :bigok: You might even think about a BG1400 from the Custom Shop.

id say get whatever seymour put in his signature fender esquire. if the man wound it for his sig guitar, its gotta be good
