Suggestions on 10" speakers?

Re: Suggestions on 10" speakers?

I'm just not familiar with 10's. I was thinking wgs or eminence

well, if you like high gain like the Orange in your sig..I recently contacted Anthony at Eminece with a question about what 4x10" speaker was good for high gain( at the time, I still had a Mesa 4x10 cabinet), and he suggested the Ragin Cajun 10".

Re: Suggestions on 10" speakers?

^ I don't.I'd be willing to give their premium Alnico speakers a shot.Wait, no I wouldn't, Eminence is the industry standard, with a 5 year warranty on all their speakers. WGS serves NO purpose in my book.

WELL FINE :P
But in all honesty, I was going to say the Ragin' Cajun is usually the #1 suggestion i hear for 10" applications.

I've heard good things about the RC as well. The only eminence speakers I have are c rexs which are pretty sweet

They're cheap too. Guys put them in the little turd Fenders like the Super Champ cabs and the Frontmans 25rs. The Frontmans apparently really light up and get a strong Db boost too. They become halfway giggable.

Loudest 10 I am aware of. After I put one in my Princeton, it stopped whimpering in fear whenever I plugged in a Fuzz Face or such.

Efficient as all hell.

Will it sound like garbage if I only put two new speakers in and leave two old? I would only mic one speaker anyway and it would be nice to save some money.

Buy one and mic it while the rest of them just make sure air gets pushed. Replace as necessary. Make sure you've got the right ohm ratings.

Seriously doubt that would be a problem. Even with two, you'd be in for a real volume boost.
