Super Distortion magnet change

I got a HSS strat I need a humbucker for and I have a F spaced Super D that I don't really care for.And I'm broke.
What kinna differance could I expect from swapping the magnet in it to alnico5(i have a dead Alnico 5 pickup)??What about Alnico 2 or 8?
I've never swapped mags befor so I have no idea.

I tried it with an A5, it was pretty bland. What kind of sound are you looking for?

Well I went ahead and stuck the Super in that strat for now.I gotta say it does sound much better in this guitar though.
I had it in a 79' ash strat w/ maple neck w/ vintage radius and it was way too bitey and not smooth at all.This strat is agathis w/ a rosewood board and flatter radius and it seems smoother in this one.
Its a bit to fat and boomy but not that bad.Would a magnet swap help here??
BTW I'm a metroamp member and that rockstah can play boy I tell you.........:bowdown:

I'd imagine a Super would sound good in an Agathis guitar, It's a pretty bright pickup and Agathis is pretty dark sounding.

There quite a few guys over at metro that tried the SD with a 5 cause it is said that EVH took out the stock ceramic and put in a P.A.F magnet in it.
