Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I play Jackson's and I was wondering why anyone likes their ESP's, Ibanez. Shecter, or even Fender superstrats.

Non-superstrat players tend to say that our guitars look the same, but I can tell a Jackson from a lineup anyday.

Why'd you choose yours: Artist influence, brand reputation, to get girls (cuz you know they can't resist a man with a superstrat), brand models, etc...

Inquiring minds wanna know.

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I love my pair of Jackson Dinky Reverse's- Performer series from the mid 90's..... also love my 1987 Charvel......

I love Jacksons but can't afford the USA ones!

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

the only thing gayyyer than a supastrat, is a sea-green one.

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I'm trying to decide between superstrats right now... either Schecter C-1 Floyd Rose or a used Warmoth swamp ash superstrat with a floyd rose. Makes decisions so tough...

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I have two superstrats. The first I bought at a store because it played and sounded best from all the guitars in my price range. It's a Jackson DK2. I initially wanted to buy something a bit cooler looking like a V or such (I was young!), but none played as good as that thing did so I got it. These days I've changed all the pups to duncans and I'm going to change the pots and the jack too. I'm not sure of the trem, it seems to work well enough.

My second one is an ESP M-II. I bought because it had all that I wanted in the most affordable package. Specs, craftmanship and price all really meet in one. So far I've changed the EMG pups from it to SDs and I like them really much more. It's nearly a perfect axe, it sometimes makes me feel stupid for still sometimes having gas for more guitars.

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I've an RG550 on permanent load to a mate (actually I might have sold it to him, I can't remember...) Ibanezes are pretty cool, whenever I feel the nead for a cathartic shred that's what the doctor orders!

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

dunno how "super" my superstrats are, but I dig my EBMM sillhouette special. Kindof a mix between the modern superstrat and vintage vibe.

Feeling any better? :D

As you can tell, I´m a pretty steadfast Jackson /Charvel user... mainly because they "speak" to me more than any other guitars I´ve played in the last 15 years, and because they´re still one of the best Price vs. Value vs. Quality deals there are in a USA made axe despite being handmade :headbang:

I started with my ESP LTD's because of a healthy list of features: set-thru neck, OFR trem, EMG pups; maple body, cool skull & xbones inlays, and 2 vol 1 tone control - alot of guitars out there only had 1 master volume! (what a drag!)

A really great guitar at a good price!

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I love my Strats, super or not. My Fender started out as a regular 3-single coil Strat but over time morphed in to a Super Strat with dual buckers. Stock bridge still.

My pride and joy is my '88 Kramer Baretta. That was my holy grail guitar as a teen.

You guys want a gas WAR????? It shall be so! Too bad Zerb doesn't own the tomato soup 650xl, otherwise he may have won this battle... too bad it isn't so.

Re: Superstrat Users Unite!!!

I use an ESP LTD M-200FM (soon to be modded up). I just love the feel of it; the double cut makes it super easy to reach the higher frets, the weight is really nice. I also like the floyd rose system a lot, I do a lot of bends, vibrato and dives, so its very useful to me. I like all kinds of superstrats; from Jackson, ESP, Schecter, Ibanez... but my biggest influences like Dave Mustaine and Kai Hansen along with other greats like George Lynch, Jeff Hanneman and other use ESP, so I figure they are pretty good guitars for the type of music I play. I tried them, ditched my SG and Les Paul, and the rest is history. Other than the Superstrats, I'd play a Rhoads clone or a King V.
