Surprise NGD - Cheapo Strat with GLS

Hey guys,

Was checking through the used section of one of the local GCs on Saturday, not really thinking I'd end up liking anything, and happened across a blackout Strat with maple neck and gold Lace Sensors. The pickups caught my eye, I've been looking for something a little quieter for what's laughingly called my home studio, and its plethora of EMI-inducing equipment. Picked it up, plugged it in, and it sounded great and felt even better, with an American-style rounded-C neck and maple fretboard, so I told myself if it was still there the next day (today) it was meant to be.

Well, it was still there, so $200 later (case included - bonus!), HNGD to me:

Now, I don't know much about TGM Customs. I do know the bridge saddles and the neck plate say Fender USA, and the black satin finish has me thinking this is a partscaster; Highway One body, TGM import neck, GLS-loaded pickguard, something along those lines. Anyway, regardless of resale value (of which it obviously has very little, though if it's made from what I think it is, I got a *sweet* deal), it's definitely a player.

Now to make it mine. I'm thinking swap the pickguard for white pearl, maybe deck the trem (it's set up very low as is; I might keep it floating), and find myself a black S-1 volume knob and pot (or a push-push from Warmoth) and wire up a neck-on to get something vaguely Tele-ish out of it when the mood suits me.

200 bucks for a great playing strat, gold lace sensors AND a case, if that's not a great deal then I don't know what is!
