Swap Fishman OEM Piezo with SD Sadducer Steel Mono Piezo Pickup

Has anyone swapped out a Fishman piezo pickup which has a Fishman Presys+ (OEM) with a SD Sadducer Steel Mono piezo pickup and still use the Fishman Presys+ (OEM) preamp? If so, is it a simple swap or is there other modifications required? Is there a noticeable improvement in the tone? Any input would be most appreciated.

Well, the Sadducer is designed to be used without a preamp, so it may overdrive the preamp in the guitar already. I don't know if you will find anyone who has done this exact swap, but I have never heard anyone who used the Sadducer with an internal preamp of any kind.

Mincer is right. The impedance and output level will not match. Even if it wasn't distorting the preamp, the impedance mismatch might make the Sadducer not sound the way it was intended to sound.

The greater question is why? What are you hoping to get from the Sadducer that you aren't getting from the stock pickup? The Sadducer is a great pickup, but the D-Tar systems used a coaxial design bought from L.R. Baggs, and the Fishman pickup is that same type of design. I've used the Fishman pickup a few times in the past and have no complaints.
