Swapping around warmoth strat pickups...need more chunk in bridge!

Okay well i had to use my strat the other night because i busted a string on my les paul and it was nice to use except the dimarzio virtual vintage solo bridge just didnt have enough chunk for high gain palm muting and things that i needed to do with it...so before my next gig im getting a chrome covered JB fitted to the bridge which should fix that right up ;)

What i just thought of was to put the now un-used virtual vintage solo into the neck position instead of the virtual vintage blues, and end up with a combo which will be:

bridge - JB full size
middle - virtual vintage blues
neck - virtual vintage solo

...and that should make for a better combination i think! I rang my tech and he thought it was a great idea so we're going ahead with that so i cant wait to get it back and see what it sounds like!

Now ive got a spare virtual vintage blues so i might chuck it in the middle of my jackson because it only has a crap jackson stock coil in there with two duncans in neck and middle...but when i get around to getting another gibson for a backup guitar ill probably change the strat back to that solo/blues/blues configuration because it did sound really good!

Just thought id share :D

Tell us how it turns out.

He didn't put the JB in the Lester because that wouldn't solve the issue with the strat. ;)

Right on Benjy! ;)

That and i don't want a JB in my les paul because i want to keep to medium output pickups at the most, and really want to keep it vintage flavoured...so im either gonna go with a set of alnico 2 pros, lindy fralins (will have these in one les paul one day anyway ;) ), or most likely at the moment which is what ive decided on right now is a dimarzio virtual hot PAF bridge and virtual PAF neck (ive heard they are the BOMB!).

But right now im happy with my les paul tone so i don't need to change it...as Benjy noted, i "need" to get some chunk out of my strat, and now its shaping up to be quite a tone monster :D

I was actually gonna post a clip of a solo i just wrote recorded with my ENGL and strat with its virtual vintage solo bridge...the tone i got was really cool, but unfortunately my soundclick site has expired because i didnt use it for so long so i either need to make a new one when ive got time or find an easier way to host sound files...right now though ive gotta go to work ;)
