Swapping Humbucker Pole Pieces

What can you get away with in terms of swapping pole pieces in a humbucker? I've swapped out slugs in single coil Strat style pups before without issue, and wondering if I can do something similar with those in a humbucker. That and whether the screw coil could be replaced with slugs.

Assuming being able to get the right size slugs, is it possible to just do the same as with single coils?

You can get polepiece screws made with different alloys to slightly alter the tone, the same with the slugs, if we're talking about humbuckers. What you can't do is to install screws in a slug coil or vice versa.

Ah ok, so bobbins are physically different to each other. Wasn't sure if that was the case, or whether they were the same, except the screw coil needed the bar :)

Mag rods for the wound strings, slug coil. Opens the wounds up, reduces mids and output. Nice for a dark neck pup.
