Swapping pups on my Gibson SG Special

My Gibson SG Special currently has the stock 490R/490T pups. I want to put a Pearly Gates in the bridge and Alnico II Pro in the neck. Will these new pups drop right in and will the mounting holes match up with the holes where the 490s were? Or is this going to be a custom job that I'll have to take to the shop?

A few other questions, I'm not sure what pots come standard on the SG but I noticed in the SD install documentation they specify 500K pots. What would the chances be that m SG already has 500K pots?

I've seen some other posts on this site where people are trying to get that GnR sound, that's why I'm doing this. I can't afford a $5,000 Slash Signature LP. I'm also wondering if these new pups will be appropriate in my SG which is a solid mohagony body. Any advice would be appreciated.

they should fit in no problem..I believe most gibson's use 300k pots stock, which will work fine, they'll just sound less bright than 500k pots would.

what kind of amp do you have? i think it will depend more on that....

i think if you're trying to nail slashs sound, then you're going to miss that huge chunk of mahogany he gets from his les paul. if you wanna get close, i think the PG would do fine. but you MUST play some solos from the neck, haha!
