Swapping the speaker on my flextone

i currently have a flextone II 1x12, which sounds ok through my headphones, but not so hot through the cab. It's got the stock "custom voiced celestion" in it, and i was wondering if i would be able to get a better sound if i were to swap it out and put in a vintage 30 or something. anyone have any advice?

If yours is like my Flextone IIXL, then it is boomy. I've been told that there is a speaker upgrade to a new custom designed Celestion available for the Flex's. At least that is the case for the IIXL, and I assume for your II 1x12. The celestion can be had from Line6 for 50 bucks. I do not recall the model name, but you can either call Line6, or get online at their site to find out about it. I saw a pair going on ebay not long ago for about 50 to 75 bucks, and almost picked it up.

The V30 might not be a bad way to go, either. I would suggest that you send a Private Mail to:
