Sorry I don't have a picture, guys, but I was too mad to take one.
I was playing with my pup height some more on my Jackson and when I got it about where I wanted it, I flipped the switch up to the neck pup to see how they balanced out in volume. The switch just fell back down. :saeek:
After trying the switch a few more times, I took the back plate off to see what the problem was. The switch is attached to the body with a piece going up from the back and a nut on the front holding it on, of course. These pieces have the lever going up inside them. All that works fine, but the other piece has broken loose. The toggle fits between two blades to operate the switch. Those blades are attached to the rest of the switch body, and that attaches to the guitar body with two posts going to the pieces mentioned earlier. That's where the switch came apart.
I can push it back in, but unless I'm gentle, flipping the switch will pull it loose again. I have no clue how this happened, and I've never heard of a switchcraft switch breaking.
My question is two-fold. The guitar is just over a year old and I believe it is past the electronics warranty. Do y'all think it's something that may still be covered? If not, would it be worth fixing (and how) or would it be better to just get a new one? I can't take it back to the store where I got it until Friday (Guitar Sinner isn't going anywhere near this guitar!!!!).
