Before switching, I noticed the Schecter had a bit of a hollow sound in the upper mids the more I played it compared to the Jackson. All fixed. The Schecter now has a great upper-mid crunch while still remaining a ballsy and tight low end, and same for the Jackson. The Jackson sounds a little brighter and has a bit more aggression, as well as a tad more high end.
Anyone contemplating this...I suggest you do it! Now I know why a JB/Jazz is such a great combo...
